Abbie Chappell
Abbie is a certified Craniosacral Therapist and Holistic Masseuse practicing in Devon. Her passion for this work is rooted in her curiosity of the human body and its natural capacity for self-healing. Training in massage at a retreat center in New Zealand, Abbie developed a love for creating a nurturing space where people can come, be and receive. She learned a variety of techniques, including Swedish, Balinese, and therapeutic massage. Her journey eventually led her to discover Craniosacral Therapy (CST), with which she felt a deep affinity. CST is a gentle yet powerful hands-on therapy that engages the whole person, supporting changes in the body, mind, emotions, and spirit. With its osteopathic roots, this treatment focuses on listening to the client’s body and orienting toward inherent health, allowing the body to release accumulated stress from old injuries, traumatic experiences, illness, or other holdings. This process restores balance and health, helping individuals connect with their heart, body, and soul. Each person’s experience of CST is unique and can vary with every session, depending on what the body requires. The body inherently knows where it needs support and attention. CST is known to help with the following but not limited to: Anxiety TMJ/Jaw problems Headaches and migraines Tinnitus and vertigo Insomnia/sleep issues Aches and pains Stress or overwhelm Pregnancy CST can benefit people of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. During a session, clients lie fully clothed on a massage table, typically on their back. If lying is difficult, alternative positions such as sitting or side-lying can be arranged. Abbie gently places her hands on various areas of the body—often the feet, head, back, chest, lower spine, and sacrum —to sense where tension may be held, supporting the system in restoring balance and health. Abbie offers her sessions at Tavistock therapy centre on Wednesdays or Friday afternoons with the possibility of some flexibility. www.rootedinpeace.co.uk
